Hi, I’m Ross!
I am a security specialist, blogger and writer.
My mission is to share my knowledge with you in a straightforward format, that you can quickly incorporate to improve the quality of your specifications and system designs.
I write on all aspects of security including electronic solutions, industry standards and best practice.
This content is all my own work and does not represent the opinion of the organisation that I work for or any third parties I am a member of or represent socially or professionally.
I base my posts on common topics or questions that arise during my daily practice, consultants as well as providing how-to articles, or detailed information on how things work.
I occasionally also write about other stuff that doesn’t fit into these categories on topics that interest me personally.
I tend to post one new article a week on a Monday.
I have written a book for Mechanical and Electrical Consultants called Designing Physical Access Control Systems: A Design Guide for Consultants, it has over 7 five star reviews and is available to purchase from Amazon.
I am a Senior Security Consultant for a global consultancy practice.
I am an access control subject matter expert and have been working in the security industry for the past nine years and prior to that, spent fourteen years working in technical roles within the IT Industry.
I hold the Certified Security Management Professional Level 6 Diploma issued by the International Security Management Institute.
I contribute to the following Professional Industry Bodies:
- ASIS International UK Chapter – Member
- The International Security Management Institute – Member (M.ISMI)
- The Security Institute – Associate Member (ASyI)
I am available to speak at your event, exhibition or office on several topics. You can find out more on my speaking page.
I live in the United Kingdom with my beautiful wife and two daughters, when I am not working, I enjoy spending time with them, I love to cook and have an unhealthy love of coffee.
I am a productivity geek and a fan of Apple products, I am always looking for better and smarter ways to work, or getting excited over a new piece of technology available in the market. I also have a large collection of Lego.
